What Mech Central does
Mech Central is our workshop software, and the sister product to InspectaCar. InspectaCar produces the inspection report. Mech Central books the car in, keeps its history, quotes the work, invoices it with the photos on it and sends the reminder for the next service. It is made for Australian mechanical workshops and nothing else.
- Bookings and today’s board. See what is in the shop, what is waiting on parts and what is ready for pickup.
- Every car’s file, by rego. Search a registration and see each service, invoice, photo and note for that car.
- Quotes the customer approves on their phone. Labour at your rates and parts at RRP, laid out in sections the customer can read.
- Invoices with the proof on them. Rego, odometer and vehicle on the page, with the old part shown next to the new one, sent as a link.
- Service reminders. The service you invoice sets the next one. Reminders go out by email, and by SMS once you switch texting on.
- A log book service menu, parts memory and saved labour rates, so pricing a job takes a minute.
- Inspection reports. Mech Central has its own vehicle inspection reports for workshop jobs, including tyres, service history and OBD notes.
- Your workshop web page with a booking form, and customer import from Excel or CSV.

Mech Central is a separate site with its own account, plan and billing. Your InspectaCar login does not work there, and nothing in your InspectaCar account changes if you try it.

There are no per-seat fees and no feature tiers, and you can cancel any time. These prices were checked on 18 October 2026, and the Mech Central pricing page always shows the current plan. InspectaCar is billed separately.
What Mech Central is not
Mech Central does not issue roadworthy or safety certificates. Those are issued by an authorised tester under your state’s rules. It produces the inspection report you give the customer, and it can invoice the job.

Is Mech Central part of InspectaCar?
No. It is a separate product with its own website, account and plan. It is the workshop software we offer alongside InspectaCar’s inspection reports.
Do I have to stop using InspectaCar?
No. They do different jobs and have separate accounts. Keep running your inspections and reports in InspectaCar, and try Mech Central for bookings, quotes, invoices and reminders.
Can I sign in to Mech Central with my InspectaCar login?
No. Create a Mech Central account on its own website. Setup takes about two minutes, and the first month is free.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing for the first month: the whole app is included and no credit card is needed. After that it is $189 a month inc GST for the whole workshop, month to month.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser and can be added to the home screen like an app. Photos taken with no reception queue and upload later.
Can my team use it?
Yes. Team logins are unlimited at no extra cost, and you choose which accounts can see prices, profit and revenue.
Does it issue roadworthy certificates?
No. Roadworthy and safety certificates are issued by an authorised tester under your state’s rules. Mech Central produces the inspection report you give the customer, and can invoice it.
